Do you dream of a white Christmas straight out of a storybook? Fresh snow on the ground, green pine trees and woodland creatures all around? Transport your home to a Christmas forest this year by decorating your home with a woodland Christmas theme!
- Festive foliage. The number one way to create a woodland Christmas in your home this year is to use a real tree and rich, fresh green branches in your decorating. Lay thin fir branches along your mantelpiece and down the centre of your table, and wrap some around bannisters and across the top of chairs, fastening in place with traditional packaging string. Scatter some Aspen Pine table toppers around your house, in bedrooms and on coffee tables, to tie all the rooms together.
- Decorating the tree. Keep your decorations simple. Decorations made with wood are perfect, and can be partnered with glittering gold and soft silver to create a beautiful theme that won’t take away from the natural beauty of your bright, fresh tree.
- Furry friends. You might not have owls and deer roaming outside, but you can create your own woodland menagerie indoors! Perch a few burlap owls and squirrels in your tree and create a stylish herd of deer ornaments along your mantelpiece.
- Laying the table. Place white candles along your table, making sure they’re in raised candleholder to keep them away from the branches you’ve laid down the centre. Scatter some pine cones and gold or pearl baubles in amongst the branches as well. And add the finishing touch by tying each person’s cutlery together in a bundle with some twine and fastening their name tag to the top.
- Light up your rooms. Light-up ornaments will add sparkle to your home in the evenings and can be used throughout the house, not just in the main rooms. Look for village-themed snow globes, light-up cottages and traditional Santa scenes to suit the woodland Christmas theme.
