Kids Christmas Games - The Christmas Cart

Christmas in July just isn’t Christmassy without some fun and merry games for the kids.  Our fun-loving fairies have compiled their favourite games to keep the young ones (and even a few of the adults) entertained!

Jingle Bells Bingo

Make a grid of 5 x 5 boxes and in each box place a Christmas themed picture – each grid will have to be different – give a grid sheet to each kid. Fill a bowl with the same images that were used in the grids and draw them one at a time from the bowl for the kids to mark-off. The first player to mark five images in a row (vertical, horizontal or diagonal) calls out ‘Jingle Bells BINGO’ and wins a prize – candy canes are a good idea for prizes.

Christmas Bauble and Spoon race

Arrange all of the children at a start line with a Christmas bauble and a teaspoon each. When you are ready to start the race, ask them to place the bauble onto their spoon and then place their other arm behind their back. When you say go, the children will race – as fast as they can without the bauble rolling off the spoon – to the finish line. If the bauble falls, the child goes out. The first child to cross the finish line with their bauble still balanced on their spoon and an arm behind their back, wins.

Santa Says

This is just like the game Simon says except the leader wears a Santa hat and starts each round by saying ‘Santa says…’

Who am I Santa?

Purchase enough Santa hats for all of the children at your party. Before guests arrive, pin the name of a holiday character to the top of each one. Place a hat on each child’s head—without letting them see the name on the hat. The objective of the game is to have the children move throughout the room, talking to one another, and asking questions to try to guess their identity. The first person to guess who he or she is wins the game. This game can be played with adults too, by making a separate set of hats with more difficult characters pinned to them.

Pass the Christmas Parcel

Create a pass the parcel but use Christmas wrapping paper for each layer. If the parcel is for children use Christmas Stocking Filler toys for the surprises; for adults, try a classier Christmas surprise such as our bottle tops or crystal angels.

The ugly Christmas jumper game

Everyone who attends your Christmas in July party has to wear the ugliest Christmas jumper they can find. Hold a fashion parade and the most hideous jumper wins a prize.

What’s in the stocking?

Fill a Christmas stocking with a bag of Christmas Stocking Fillers and treats, and then tie the top of the stocking so no one can see inside. Pass the stocking around the circle and get the kids to write down what they think is inside. Whoever guesses the most correctly wins!

Here at The Christmas Cart we love all sorts of Christmas games, please share on our Facebook page any other great game ideas, we’d love to hear from you!
