Christmas Decorating Tips for Small Spaces

decorating small spacesDo you live in an apartment or small house? Just because you have a smaller space doesn’t mean you can’t decorate your home for Christmas, you just have to think outside the box. We’ve put together some ideas to get you started!

Even if you don’t have a big space you can still have a Christmas tree. Table top trees will fit almost anywhere, including on a table, shelf or windowsill. They immediately make a room seem more festive, and you can even wind some tinsel and ribbon around them if you want to decorate them the same way you would a full size tree.

If you don’t have the wall space to hang decorations, don’t worry. Wrap tinsel around door frames or on the legs of tables and chairs; hang wreaths on the front of cupboards; or fill vases with baubles and sit them on your table or kitchen bench for space-saving seasonal flair.

Windows are another great space to decorate and add some Christmas spirit to your home. Make your own snowflakes simply by cutting them out of paper and sprucing them up with glitter paint, or wind Christmas lights around the window frame.

Utilise those cramped corners in your house by creating floating displays – hang bunches of baubles on string or ribbon from light fixtures or attach them to the ceiling for decorations that don’t take up any floor space at all.
