Christmas in July Canapes

Christmas CanapesThe perfect Christmas in July feast starts with tasty nibbles to set the tone for the meals to come. This week we’ll be sharing some Christmas in July canapés to get your party started. 

Roasted Gnocchi, Sundried Tomato and Olive Stacks – You’ll Need:

  • 500g pack of fresh gnocchi
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 40 pitted green olives
  • 40 sundried tomatoes
  • 40 basil leaves

 

Heat oven to 220°C. Add the fresh gnocchi to a roasting tin and drizzle with olive oil. Roast for 25-30 minutes or until golden. Thread the roasted gnocchi onto cocktail sticks with pitted green olives, sundried tomatoes and basil leaves. Serve while gnocchi is still warm.

Beef and Mozzarella Meatballs – You’ll Need:

  • 360g pack of ready-made (12) meatballs
  • 50g mozzarella, divided into 12 pieces
  • 300g tub fresh tomato and basil sauces

 

Heat oven to 200°C. Wet your hands and push a piece of mozzarella into the centre of each meatball then reform the meat into a ball. Place on baking tray and cook for 15-20 minutes until cooked through and brown. Tip the sauces into a pan and gently heat. Pop a mini skewer in each meatball and serve with dipping sauce.
