3 Cool Christmas Craft Ideas

Craft
Are you stuck for activities to keep your family entertained in the lead up to Christmas? Why not get creative with one of these 3 cool Christmas craft ideas! They’re great for kids and adults alike.

  1. Family Photo Garland

Christmas is a great time to remember family, both those who are with us and those who aren’t. If you have a collection of family photos why not take a trip down memory lane and make a sweet photo garland to display on your wall or mantle? Simple cut out a long, narrow piece of thick cardboard in whatever colour you like best. Gather together your favourite photos and clip them onto the cardboard with pegs or paperclips, arranging them from the oldest photo down to the most recent. You can even some more interest, add some glitter or cut out snowflakes in between each photo if you want to!

  1. Outdoor Lanterns

Turn paper bags into dramatic lanterns by cutting out simple festive designs like Christmas trees, stars and snowmen with a crafts knife, hole punch, and scissors. Fill the bottom with sand, and drop in a tea light or battery powered votive to bring your walkway to life at dusk.

  1. Cookie Cutter Ornaments

These cookie-cutter ornaments are great for your own tree and also make lovely gifts. Use aluminium cookie cutters in Christmas shapes – trees, snowmen and stars are all good choices. Choose patterned wrapping paper or pictures photocopied onto thin cardboard. Trace your chosen cookie cutter onto your paper and cut out. Dab craft glue along the cookie cutter’s edge, press paper into place and let dry. Thread some narrow ribbon, thread or fishing line through a needle; carefully poke between paper and cutter, and wrap ribbon around the top of the cookie cutter. Tie a knot at the top and hang!
