With the school holidays coming up, our Christmas fairies have gathered their favourite kids Christmas themed games to keep them entertained. Encourage them to join in these fun and festive games to get them into the spirit of Christmas in July!
Christmas Stocking Challenge – You’ll Need:
- Oversized stocking
- Christmas objects and ornaments
- Ribbon
- Pen and paper
Activity – place as many items as you can into the oversized stocking (around 25). Tie a ribbon around the top so the items are hidden. Pass the stocking around to each player and have them write down what they think is in the stocking and how many items are in there. The player who guesses the most correct objects and the closest number wins.
Reindeer Dash – You’ll Need:
- 2 reindeer antler headbands
- 2 Santa hats
- 2 pairs of gumboots
- Belt
- Red nose
- Table
Activity – Place Santa hats, reindeer antlers, gumboots, red noses and belt on a table across the room or garden. Line the kids up into two teams. The first player must race to the table and put on the Santa hat from the table, then run back and tag the next teammate. The second player must put on the hat, run to the table and add a second dress-up item then run back and tag the next person who must put on all items from the previous person. If any item falls off, the player must run back to the start and try again. The first team to finish the reindeer dress-up relay first with the last team member fully dressed wins.
Christmas Memory Game – You’ll Need:
- Paper and pens
- 15 Christmas items (toys, household items, ornaments, decorations)
- Box
Activity – Place all Christmas items in a box. Give the players a few minutes to look at the items in the box and ask them to memorise them. Take out two or more items from the box. Return the box to the players and ask them to guess which items are missing. They will need to write down as many items as they can remember from the box. The player with the most correct answers wins.
