Most of us are traditional when exchanging Christmas gifts, handing over our presents to the recipient at a party or around the tree on Christmas mornings. But have you considered adding a twist to your family gathering? Try out some of these unique ideas for exchanging Christmas gifts this year!
Festive Trivia
Create a game of Christmas themed trivia with your gift giving. The first person to answer each question gets to pick a present from the pile. Once you have a gift, you’re out of the competition.
Coffee Mugs
This is a great one for the office or Secret Santa. Give your gift giving a limit of exchanging decorative coffee mugs and fill your Kris Kringle’s mug with fun treats or random trinkets.
Gift Guessing
Have everyone buy a random gift and wrap the gifts in a way were others can’t tell what it is. Hold up your gift and have everyone guess what is inside. Whoever can guess the gift correctly gets to keep the gift and is then out of the game. Go around until all the gifts have been exchanged.
Pass the Parcel
Have everyone buy a small gift with a price limit, then wrap them for Christmas style pass the parcel. Sit in a circle with the main gift and play some Christmas carols. Have someone be in charge of abruptly stopping the music and whoever is holding the present at the time, gets to unwrap it.
Christmas Bingo
Set up a game of festive bingo. Once someone gets bingo they can choose a gift from the pile of presents, based entirely on the gift-wrapping or steal a gift from the previous bingo winner.
