Weird yet Wonderful Christmas Centrepieces

Inject some creativity into your usual Christmas centrepieces with these fun ideas which are sure to be the talk of your guests! Our Christmas Elves have discovered the following quirky takes on traditional Christmas decorations and Christmas centrepieces.

Repurpose your Glassware

Mix up the old Christmas baubles in a glass bowl this Christmas in July – literally! Simply place your Christmas baubles in the glass bowl and flip it over. To cover the bowl when flipping, and to use as a decorative flat base for this centrepiece, we like to use a plain white china plate or a simple silver tray.

It helps to have a second pair of hands on deck when doing this, so ask someone to help you!

Repurpose empty jars in your pantry by placing a single red flower in each or a pinecone – simple, cute and festive!

Alternatively, fill the glassware with water and place floating candles and springs of ivy inside.

Fresh Festive displays – Apples, Pears, Nuts, Cinnamon sticks

Make your fresh produce work twice as hard by also utilising your fresh fruits and nuts as Christmas in July décor. With our cool weather, fresh fruit is able to last outside for at least four weeks without spoiling.

Find fresh fruit that are in season during winter as it cheaper, tastes better and is more nutritious. Fruit currently in season are apples, grapefruit, kiwifruit, lemons, mandarins and navel oranges.

To start, gather a few large vases or clear glass bowls in your home and place the fruit or nuts of your choice inside. Next, tie a festive ribbon around the middle or base of the vase or bowl –  alternatively you can use a string of tinsel for a sparkly effect. Use this new masterpiece to add some festive cheer and spruce up a dull corner in your home or your dining table. The best part about this Christmas in July display is being able to walk past and grabbing a healthy and nutritious snack when you are feeling peckish!

One of our Glitter Fairies favourite fruit Christmas displays is a large glass bowl filled with a nice mixture of red apples and green pears, sprinkled with some walnuts and cinnamon sticks. The scent is deliciously inviting, sure to brighten up any mood and it just screams Christmas in July!

For a simple yet classy door decoration, hang a juicy red pomegranate from a red ribbon. Create a hanging loop by pushing the ends of a short length of florist’s wire into the pomegranate, then thread the red ribbon through the loop and tie in a bow at the top of the fruit. Voila! A fun, homemade Christmas bauble that looks fantastic!

Christmas Baubles on a Candelabra

Hang your Christmas baubles from your candelabra for a more elaborate table setting – stick to a particular colour theme for an elegant effect.

Christmas Scented Soy Candles

Set the ambience with candles, not only are they visually appealing, but they smell great. Add to your festive atmosphere with great scents such as Christmas Cedar, Candy Cane, Frankincense & Myrrh, and Gingerbread.
