Keep the Christmas Magic Alive: How to Help Your Kids Believe in Santa

Christmas is full of family traditions and one of our strongest traditions is our longing to pass the magic of Christmas on to every generation. Check our list of some of the best ways you can keep the magic of Christmas alive for the children in your life.

Download the ‘Parents Calling Santa’ app – with this nifty app, Santa will call and can speak to your children. In fact, for misbehaving kids, there’s even a ‘naughty’ message setting where Santa will warn them to be good!

Catch Santa on video – have the kids help you set up a camera on Christmas Eve. Once they’re tucked away in bed, have Dad dress up as Santa delivering gifts, and catch it on camera. Your children will be delighted and amazed to find evidence of Mr Claus!

Mail yourself a package from Santa – to make sure the little ones know that you and Santa are in cahoots, have some cookies (made by Mrs Claus herself of course) mailed to your house with a secret letter just for the grown-ups.

Don’t forget to make Santa’s handwriting different to yours! Having your handwriting on your child’s gift tag is a dead giveaway, so make sure it looks different. If you’re having trouble imitating different handwriting, just have a friend write your gift tags.

Download the ‘Santa Spy Cam’ apphere. This app captures footage of elves – and Santa himself – visiting your home, and has the seal of approval of the NPCSB (The North Pole Clandestine Services Bureau).

Visit the Santa Tracker – since Christmas Eve 1955, Norad has been keeping tabs on Santa’s journey all around the world. This immersive website will let you and the kids track him with videos, maps and a sneak peak at Santa’s village on the North Pole!

Leave half eaten carrots outside to be found on Christmas morning – reindeers get carrots from all the homes, so it makes sense that there’d be a few scraps leftover. The cookies that you left out for Santa on the other hand…well, I’m sure you can find someone to eat those.

Use different wrapping paper – for gifts that your kids know that you’re giving as yourself. If everything is all in the same paper, your kids could catch on that you and Santa happen to have the same supply.

Assemble pre-packaged toys – because, while it takes time, this is exactly what Santa’s elves are doing in his workshop!

Give your kids a gift they’d never imagine you’d give them – that way, it surely must have come from Santa!

Don’t forget the obvious ones – be careful with your conversations (they hear all), don’t bring the kids Christmas shopping (they see all!), hide your gifts well (they find all) and of course be enthusiastic about Santa!
