I love creating a warm, fun and festive feeling in our home. And that includes from the very first impressions that greet us and our guests at the entryway.
In this Decorate with Me: Christmas Front Porch & Entryway decorating video I take you through how I decorate the balustrades, features on either side of the front door and of course the wreath on the front door too.
On the balustrades there’s lots of gorgeous garland, embellished with bright green DecoMesh and plenty of red baubles and beautiful big red bows.
I just love the red and green colour combination. There’s nothing quite like red baubles and bows to tell you that Christmas is here. And don’t forget the fairy lights! They look so pretty all lit up at night.
This year I’ve purchased some slim Christmas trees that will sit either side of the door, so I’ll take you through how I decorated those in co-ordinating colours, with some more DecoMesh, stunning ribbons, more baubles and some pretty picks too.
And finally to the wreath on the door. The wreath has some co-ordinated touches too to tie it in with the trees and the garlands. A couple of deep red poinsettias and a cute elf as the feature ornament complete the look.
I really enjoy creating a co-ordinated and cohesive Christmas decorating theme from the entryway and porch through to the inside entry and living area, but I also like keeping each space a little different to one another. So there might be a few matching pieces, like an elf or flowers, or a variation on the colour themes in another area, but I don’t like to have everything completely “matchy matchy”.
