Meet Sue – An Amazing Christmas Crafter

We are so excited to introduce you to one of our wonderful customers, Sue from Alstonville on the far north coast of New South Wales. Sue is a veteran Christmas crafter who has tried her hand at some amazing Christmas crafts over the years. She is also one of the warmest and most generous people I have ever met.

This story began about 6 weeks ago when Sue emailed us some photos of what she had done with our craft baubles, discs and teardrops. We were absolutely blown away!

It just so happened that I was going to be taking a short break not far from where Sue lived in a few weeks and when I asked her if she would be happy for me to come and visit her, not only did she say yes, but went on to open her home to me, my hubby and our two little granddaughters.

Sue is a lady who loves Christmas and loves Craft. She has Christmas trees up in her home all year round but they aren’t just any Christmas trees, no, these are hand-made goose feather trees. Goose feather Christmas trees became popular in the Victorian era and are believed to be the first artificial Christmas tree. Sue has made 3 goose feather Christmas trees, a white, cream and green one and has them displayed in different rooms in her home.

On these lovely feathery trees are some of the most beautiful tree decorations that Sue has made. The details and workmanship of these decorations is nothing short of amazing.

Another Christmas craft that Sue has mastered is the creation of Putz Houses. Putz houses are decorative, miniature in scale and are rooted in the elaborate Christmas traditions of the Moravian church, a Protestant denomination.

In Sue’s unique way she displays her Putz Houses in a huge wreath which makes them feel like they are perched in the mountains of Europe – so clever and effective.

Finally, Sue loves making heirloom tree decorations with our craft baubles, discs and teardrops.

Sue creates masterpieces with a range of materials, designs, and colours. Putting a lot of love into everything she creates is the key to transforming our clear glass craft decorations into stunning works of art. Sue’s family and friends admire her talent every year and enjoy being the recipients of these exquisite heirloom decorations as one of a kind Christmas gifts.

Sue has very kindly offered to prepare detailed instructions on how she transforms our craft decorations into these amazing Christmas tree decorations and we can’t wait to share them with you over the coming weeks.
