Make and Create: Glitter and Snow-Tipped Pine Cones

Make and create woodlands craft pinecones - White and Gold

The Woodlands Christmas decorating theme likes to bring a bit of the outdoors in – but with a festive sparkle! A creative, easy and inexpensive to do this is with our DIY glitter pine cones. These are versatile decorations that can easily jazz up a wreath, gift wrapping, or be hung off the tree – we they look great simply in a vase as a centrepiece!

What You’ll Need:

– Pine cones (look for ones that have a bit of twig at the end, as they’re easier to hold and attach to things)
– Adhesive spray
– Glitter (we like silver or gold)
– Fasteners dependent on your end use – for example you may need a hot glue gun to add these decorations to a wreath

Note: given that you will be working with glitter and adhesive glue (two of our favourite things) you will want to do this either outside or lay plenty of newspaper down.

Method:
1. Hold the base of the pine cone
2. Spray the edges with adhesive spray
3. Dip in glitter
4. For drying, you can either apply the glitter in two parts, allowing the first side to dry before doing the other half, or, if your pine cones have a good length of twig extension, you can use pegs to hang these up while they dry. (Lay newspaper underneath as some glitter is sure to fall!)
