Nothing helps inspire Christmas spirit quite like a little liquid merriment. Invite your guests to create their own Christmas cocktails with a DIY Festive Cocktail Station.

Just write up these simple cocktail recipes on decorative chalkboards and hang them above your Christmas cocktail station!

Equipment You’ll Need:

  • Ice bucket
  • Assorted glassware including champagne flutes, wine glasses, whiskey glasses
  • Jigger
  • Swizzle sticks
  • Cocktail napkins

Ingredients for the bar:

  • Chilled sparkling wine such as prosecco or Champagne (note that one bottle will be enough for about 6 cocktails)
  • Aperol
  • Vodka
  • Fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • Lemon and orange twists
  • Clementine slices
  • Fresh cranberries
  • Simple syrup
  • Cinnamon-honey-green tea syrup (see recipes below)

How to Make Simple Syrup (1 ½ cup)

Combine 1 cup of raw or white sugar and 1 cup of water in a medium saucepan. Bring to the boil, stirring frequently, until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool before covering and refrigerating (for up to 6 months).

How to Make Cinnamon-Honey-Green Tea Syrup (1 ½ cup)

Brew 6 green tea bags in ¾ cup of boiling water for 5 minutes before removing the tea bags. Stir in ¾ cup honey and leave to cool. Cover and refrigerate for up to one week. Before using, stir in 1 tbsp ground cinnamon.

Cocktails

Billy Mack

  • 30 ml Cinnamon-Honey-Green Tea Syrup
  • 45 ml Aperol
  • 120 ml chilled sparkling wine
  • Add all together and stir
  • Garnish with Clementine slices and ice

Jack and Sally

  • 15 ml simple syrup
  • 15 ml Aperol
  • 15 ml lemon juice
  • 120 ml chilled sparkling wine
  • Add all together and stir
  • Garnish with orange twist

Ghost of Christmas

  • 30 ml Cinnamon-Honey-Green Tea Syrup
  • 45 ml vodka
  • 30 ml lemon juice
  • 90 ml chilled sparkling wine
  • Add all together and stir
  • Garnish with fresh cranberries on a toothpick and ice

Snow Banks

  • 15ml simple syrup
  • 15 ml lemon juice
  • 120 ml chilled sparkling wine
  • Add all together and stir
  • Garnish wine lemon twist
