It’s Time for Memorable Christmas Movies

Family members watching together inside their living room and making memorable Christmas Movies

The time has come for indulging in memorable Christmas movies from the past to the present. No matter if you’re 9 or 99 and you like your movies served feel-good, rom-com or with a good dose of funnies, there’s sure to be a memorable Christmas movie for everyone to enjoy.

Movies have the ability to transport us to another place and make us smile, laugh and cry too. The emotional journey we go on when watching a movie is a huge part of what makes it so memorable and this is never truer than when it comes to Christmas movies.

We’d love to share with you what we think makes a memorable Christmas movie, as well as some of our favourite Christmas movies too.

What makes a Memorable Christmas Movie?

Often, it’s not just the Christmas movie itself that contributes to the wonderful memories made. The people we share it with, and the surroundings, can play their part in the story too.

Chances are, if you like to make memories with Christmas movies during this magical time of year, it will not only include the movie, but some of these factors too.

Who – who was part of the memorable Christmas movie with you? Parents? Siblings? Friends? Your own children?

What – ok, so this is the movie part. Which Christmas movie is most memorable for you? Snacks and other special pieces form the “what” too. Popcorn? Chocolate? Christmas cocktails maybe?! Does everyone wear a Santa hat or festive headband? Or put their matching Christmas pyjamas on?

When – when do you watch your memorable Christmas movies? Is it a long-standing Christmas Eve tradition in your family? Maybe it’s every Sunday afternoon in December or another special date.

Where – where do you watch your Christmas movies? Is it a special trip to the cinema? At grandma’s place? All laid out on the lounge and floor in the family room? On deck chairs in the backyard?

Why – why do you watch the movie that you do, with the people that you do, in the place that you do? Is it a well-worn tradition or something different every time? For the nostalgia and magic? Or the laughs and good times?

How – do you watch your movie the modern way and stream it to your smart TV? Or play the DVD, or even VCR, for the tradition and treasured memories?

Memorable Christmas Movies – Family Favourites

There’s no doubting that there’s plenty of memorable Christmas movies that get played time and time again, year after year.

The Santa Clause trilogy, Arthur Christmas and Elf are always requested favourites at our place. The Polar Express and Miracle on 34th Street are definitely up there too for a good dose of Christmas feel-good fuzzies.

For some more light-hearted family fun, it’s hard to go past Dr. Seuss How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Home Alone or Jingle All the Way. And to suit the younger crowd, we can’t resist animated movies, including the variety of Mickey Mouse films, Trolls Holiday and Barbie in the Nutcracker.

What’s on the list of Top 10 Festive Movies at your place?

One of the perks of Christmas movies is the movie-makers abilities to create sequels of these memorable Christmas movies. Why not add them all to your watch list this festive season?
