Handmade Christmas Cards

Handmade Christmas Cards - Mother and child cutting some colour paper both of them wearing a santa claus hat

Add a personal touch to your festive greetings this year by sending out handmade Christmas cards to your friends and family! You can create enough to give to all your loved ones, or choose a handful of special people and make personalised cards for them to treasure.

Bauble Cards
Cut a rectangle from some thick white paper or thin cardboard and fold in half. Draw 3 lines of different lengths on the front of the card in silver marker. Carefully cut out 15 small circles from coloured paper (5 for each bauble) and fold each circle in half. To create each bauble, glue the back of each semi-circle to the back of the next one. Hold all but the outer semi-circles between your thumb and forefinger and apply some glue to the underside of the bottom two flaps. Stick at the bottom end of each line. Fan out the semi-circle flaps to create a 3-D bauble.

Photo Cards
Our photo cards are ideal if you wish to add your own photo to a Christmas card with a message inside. They come with an adhesive front which you can simply peel off and attach your own photo. Take your own Christmas photo to send to friends and family or add your children’s santa photo from this year.

Gift wrapped Cards
Cut a rectangle from some thick coloured paper or thin cardboard and fold in half. Cut a length of ribbon, then use a Stanley knife to make a vertical slit in the middle of the card’s spine the same width as the ribbon. Thread the ribbon through the slit and wrap it around the front panel of the card as if wrapping a box. Tie the ribbon in a bow.

Christmas Tree Card
Cut a rectangle from some thick red paper or thin cardboard and fold in half. Using a pencil and a spare piece of card, draw a Christmas tree. When you are happy with the shape, cut it out to create a template. Use the template to cut two trees from two different kinds of patterned paper, then cut each tree in half. Secure one half of each tree to your card with double-sided tape, and add a rhinestone to the top of the tree as the star.
