    From sleigh bells ringing to songs about love at Christmas time. Check out our favourite songs from The Christmas Cart team’s Christmas playlist to get you in the mood you this festive season. Some might argue that a true Christmas playlist simply has to contain the classics – think Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. It is definitely hard to top the sentimentality and spirit of those classic Christmas songs that have well and truly stood the test of time. What is exciting to see, is that in more recent times, we are noticing some changes in the songs that are featuring on Christmas playlists as more and more popstars are lending their talents to the Christmas song genre. This definitely doesn’t mean that you have to choose one style or the other. Quite the opposite actually, it means there are even more ways to enjoy the magic of Christmas and maybe you just have to create more playlists! If you are looking to add a modern touch to your Christmas playlist this year, take a look at some of our favourites.  

    Justin Bieber featuring Boyz II Men: Fa La La

    Featuring a group of original heartbreakers from the nineties and one of today’s bad boy popstars, this song has a sweet romantic vibe. “Baby I hear melodies when your heart beats, baby it sings to me. Now I know it’s Christmas time.” Aww, how sweet. If only Justin was that sweet all year round.    

    White Christmas: Lady Gaga

    Who can refuse a classic Christmas song when it is sung as beautifully as the very talented Lady Gaga. White Christmas is a classic on just about everyone’s Christmas playlist – now, Gaga has put her signature voice on this record too. Gentle, sophisticated, and a timeless classic.      

    My Only Wish This Year: Britney Spears

    “Santa can you hear me? I want my baby, baby, baby. I want someone to love me, someone to hold. Tell me my true love is here” It wouldn’t be a Britney Spears song unless it featured “baby” numerous times. This time, she sings about wanting someone special at Christmas. And, with a catchy vibey tune, this song makes our Christmas playlist.    

    Underneath The Tree: Kelly Clarkson

    With her powerhouse voice, we absolutely love this Christmas song by Kelly Clarkson. It is on our Christmas playlist because it is fun, boppy, uber-catchy and gets everyone up dancing. “You’re all that I need, underneath the tree tonight”. We can’t wait to crank this one out this silly season!    

    Joy To The World: Earth, Wind and Fire

    With the sounds of a traditional gospel choir and a catchy beat, this new spin on a classic is a must-have on our Christmas playlist. Check it out yourself and I dare you not to tap your feet along to it.        

    Lil Snowman: Mariah Carey

    Nowhere near as famous as her All I Want For Christmas Is You song, this dance hit by Mariah features a real rock ‘n’ roll style to get even the most unwilling groovers up and moving!        

    Everyday Is Christmas: Sia

    We had to include this on our Christmas playlist as everyday really is like Christmas for us at The Christmas Cart. Sia is one of Australia’s top talents right now and it is no surprise with cool vibes like this song. It’s catchy and has signature Sia all over it.
