Get there early – Carols by Candlelight is a popular event, so you’ll want to leave plenty of time to find space and get settled in before the show starts.
Walk – if you can, why not enjoy a neighbourhood stroll and walk to your Carols. It will save you a lot stress looking for a carpark and is lovely on a balmy summer night.
Bring supplies – Take food, drinks and chairs or a picnic blanket, and eat dinner under the stars. Also remember to bring something warm. Even though it’s summer the nights can still get a bit chilly, especially for children.
Download the app – There is a selection of apps available to help you get the most out of your carolling this year including Christmas Carols & Sing Along Christmas Carols. If you are in Sydney Carols at The Domain has an app you can download onto your phone, with details of the performers and song lyrics. Other major city carol events have details on their website.
Get a group together – Make a night of it! Get together with family or friends and share the experience. To keep catering simple and affordable, arrange for everyone to bring a different plate and create a feast to share. What a wonderful way to share the true joy of Christmas.
