We’ve written about great children’s holiday-themed games, but why should kids have all the fun this festive season? There are plenty of Christmas games for the grown-ups too, so we’ve found a couple of fun ideas to get you in the party mood!
- Christmas Costume Pub Crawl. Christmas time usually means holiday parties. If you’re looking for something new and different to do with your friends or co-workers this year why not get all dressed up and hit up a few of your favourite bars and pubs? To ensure proper participation, award the best dressed with a free round!
- Christmas Carol Karaoke Night. Even the scrooge of your group will be hard pressed not to enjoy the chance to belt out some Christmas classics. Either hit up a karaoke bar with private singing rooms or invest in a home karaoke set, and rock out to the holiday’s best tunes. Mix it up with a combination of classic carols and newer pop renditions.
- Ornament Guessing Game. This is a simple game you can play at the start of hosting a Christmas party, lunch or dinner. Each guest has to guess how many ornaments they think are on your tree as they enter your house, with the person who is closest to the right answer winning a door prize. Just make sure you count your ornaments before hand – and write down the number so you don’t forget!
- Christmas Charades. This classic party game works just as well at Christmas as it does at any other time of year. Think up a list of holiday-themed characters, movies, songs and events, write them on slips of papers and mix together in a hat or bowl. Take turns to choose a topic and act it out before your time is up!
- Holiday Photo Booth. Create fun holiday memories by setting up a pop-up photo booth at your party. You can download prop outlines and print them out and stick them onto a foam background yourself, or find some at your local costume shop. If you want to keep it simple just set up a photo corner with the props and a digital camera in one room and have your guests take photos of each other. You can upload them the next day and email them round, printing out your favourites to keep!
