Polymer Clay Jewellery and Jewellery Dishes

Polymer Clay jewellery is all the rage at the moment, and what’s even better – it’s so easy to make! Fimo is a type of clay that is super easy to roll, mold, cook and paint. Design Your Own Mugs

What better way for someone to spike their coffee with Bailey’s on Christmas morning than in a hand-decorated mug. Pick up some plain white mugs at your local two dollar shop and decorate until your hearts content with porcelain paint (try Pebeo Porcelaine 150 outliner at Amazon) or oil-based sharpies.

Soap

Making your own soaps are a great way to save money, and there are so many different flavours and scents you can make. We’re going with a zesty poppyseed citrus flavour – you’ll be able to find ingredients at your local craft store and supermarket. You can also pick up silicon molds from craft stores, but before investing you could try using cupcake liners in muffin pans instead.

You’ll need: 500g melt and pour Goat’s Milk soap base, 15-20 drops of grapefruit essential oil, 1.5 tbsp of poppy seeds and 1 lemon, zested. Cut the soap block up into cubes and microwave in 30 second increments, stirring, until completely melted. Add poppy seeds, lemon zest and essential oil and stir well. Carefully and quickly pour the mixture into the molds, and give the soap at least 3 (preferably 5-6) hours before removing from the molds. Wrap in brown paper and twine.

Brownie Mix in a Jar

For this sweet gift, you’ll need a 1 litre jar – make sure you clean it properly. Add each ingredient in a layer for an aesthetically beautiful and tasty gift. Ingredients include: ½ tsp salt, 2 ½ cups flour, ½ tsp baking powder, 2/4 cup cocoa powder, 1 ½ cup brown sugar, 1 ½ cup white sugar, ¾ cup dark chocolate chips, ¾ cup milk chocolate chips, ¾ cup white chocolate chips, 100g walnuts or pecans. Make a handmade gift tag with instructions to mix with: 3 large eggs, 150g melted butter, 4 tbsp strong coffee, 1 tsp vanilla extract.

Body Scrub in a Jar

A nourishing exfoliant is a luxurious treat, but often something one forgets to buy for themselves, and they can often get quite pricey. Simply combine 1 cup of ground coffee, ½ cup of brown sugar, ⅓ cup almond oil, ¼ tsp vitamin E oil and 10 drop orange essential oils in a bowl, then spoon into a mason jar.

Teacup Candles

Dainty tea cups have a timeless charm – though, let’s be honest, they’re hardly big enough for the amount of coffee we need to consume on the daily. What they are, however, perfectly suited for, are DIY scented candles! Pick up a tea cup from a local second hand shop, and a candle making kit either online, or a local scent store if you live near a CBD. Simply follow the instructions using your new candles as a vessel. Add a handmade tag for a personal touch.

Spa in a Jar

An adorably presented, thoughtful Christmas gift for someone who needs to take a minute for themselves. Collect travel-sized toiletry items throughout the year, and fill a large wide-mouthed mason jar with them. Great inclusions are face cleanser, lip balm, packeted hair treatments and face masks, lotion, small razors, mini candles, nail clippers, nail files, bath bombs and little chocolates for an extra treat!
