Christmas is a great time to have friends or family stay, especially those who live further away. To ensure your guests have the best possible visit we’ve put together a list of tips and tricks for creating the perfect guest bedroom for Christmas!
- First things first: the bed. Naturally you’ll set up the room with a beautifully made sleeping space, but it’s a great idea to have a spare set of linen and towels for your guests. It’s a small luxury, but you never know when it can make a big difference especially if your guests are staying for an extended period of time. Extra towels are especially good – you never know when a trip to the beach or a picnic at the park might make them necessary!
- Make the room feel like home away from home. Do your guests love reading? Leave a few of your favourite books on the bedside table. Are they people who like to have extra covers, just in case? Leave a spare blanket at the end of the bed. Will there be a group of children staying? Lay out mattresses on the floor, along with toys and movies, and create a big sleep over environment for them. Your guests will really appreciate the extra effort you put in to make them feel relaxed and comfortable.
- Think like a hotel. You don’t have to provide turn down service each morning but placing a little welcome gift or chocolate on the pillow before your guests arrive is sure to put a smile on their faces!
- Relax! This isn’t just their holiday, it’s yours too. Your friends and family have come to spend time with you, so don’t stress yourself out trying to be the perfect host. Make sure you enjoy their company – it’s what they’ll remember most about their visit!
