DIY Christmas Decorations

Do your ornaments need a bit of an overhaul this year? Create some truly unique Christmas decorations this year by making new ornaments yourself! No skill needed, just imagination – and a great activity to do with kids in the Christmas school holidays.

DIY ornaments might seem a bit intimidating at first, but we’ve got everything you need to get started. Our clear glass craft bauble pack is the perfect canvas to get crafty on.

For a simple, striking bauble you can paint your baubles all one colour and roll them in glitter while the paint is still wet. Alternatively you can choose two contrasting colours and paint one over the other so the colours swirl together. To create stripes let the base colour dry first then apply the second coat. You can also use squeeze top bottles to paint sports all over your ornament. Let your imagination run wild!

If you’re feeling especially artistic why not paint a Christmas scene on your bauble? Try a snowy village, a bright green Christmas tree, or cover your bauble in painted presents.

For something a bit different you can super glue sequins, ribbon, tinsel or even cut up pieces of old CD on the surface of your bauble.

Baubles aren’t the only thing you can do yourself. Plain white or brown paper can be transformed into personalised wrapping paper simply by adding cut out shapes of trees, stars or animals in contrasting coloured paper. For a sweet gift why not wrap your hand made ornament in your personalised wrapping paper – and top with a homemade card!
