Constructing a centrepiece is the most important part of creating a wow-factor dining table, but can often be hard to do when you have to fit so much delicious food on the table! So, why not have it off the table completely?
Use large branches, or varying sizes of hoops wrapped with fresh foliage, and decorate with Christmas baubles that suit your decor theme. Suspend these from your ceiling above the Christmas dining table for a magical.
Create a Woodland Scene Table
Use an assortment of pine cones , fresh rosemary, bark, candles, and woodland creatures to create a fantastical feeling for your Christmas feast that both the young and old will enjoy.
Mix Old and New
There’s a true art to being able to mix vintage items in a modern style home, but when done right – wow, doesn’t it look amazing? We advise keeping it simple: choose a few statement vintage pieces such as a chandelier-style centrepiece, vintage platters and intricate goblets, complemented with simple fabrics, fairy lights and fresh flowers.
Use Plaid Prints
For a homely feel – perfect for those after a Farmhouse Christmas decorating theme (LINK), use layered plaid blankets as tablecloths, and compliment these with tartan serviettes.

There are so many ways to decorate with mason jars. For one option, collect an assortment of large mason jars. Layer a third full with Epsom salts, then fill half with red berries and green foliage (such as fresh cranberries and juniper, or perhaps red beads and green picks ). Place a candle in each of the other jars, secured in the salts. Lay a table runner down the table, and lay your mason jars along the length of the runner, alternating between candles and coloured jars. Light the candles just before dinner!
Scatter Cut Stars Across the Table
Use star-shaped hole punchers of varying sizes to cut gold, silver (or whatever colour your decor theme is) cardboard stars. Scatter these along your table, much like confetti, for a tasteful yet modern touch of bling at your Christmas table.
