Christmas Day Decorating

There’s no denying the importance of a great Christmas day food menu. But once the turkey is cooking and you’ve decided on side dishes, desserts and drinks there’s still one more thing to think about – the decorations! Setting the scene for Christmas lunch or dinner adds an extra special touch and doesn’t have to be difficult. Here are some simple tips for decorating on Christmas day.

When you’re setting the table think about where everyone will be sitting. Have you assigned specific seats? If so you can use personalised baubles to mark everyone’s place. Not only do they look lovely, your guests can take them home as an extra Christmas present at the end of the day.

One of the great Christmas traditions is pulling the bon-bons! There are so many designs to choose from, so you’ll be sure to find bon-bons in the colours, shapes and sizes that best suit your table and your overall decorating theme.

If you’re planning to place candles along the table why not try this clever decorating trick to make them a little more eye-catching: Take a few unused wine glasses and place them upside down along the length of the table. Then balance a small tea light candle on the top of each glass, alternating between red, green and white. Light the candles before your guests arrive and you’re done. Just be sure the glasses aren’t in the way of food or waving arms once everyone sits down to eat.

Remember to keep your table decorations fairly low so that your guests can see each other across the table! Wreaths make wonderful table decorations as they can be placed flat and won’t get in the way.
