Christmas Day Decorating

Christmas decorating doesn’t have to stop in the lounge room. Once the tree is up and the stockings are hung, you can get started on giving the rest of the house a bit of festive cheer. Below are some simple but effective tips on how to transform your house this Christmas season.

A Warm Welcome
A Christmas wreath on the front door is an easy way to give your entry a warm and welcoming seasonal feel. If you have a porch, a banister, or even some plants by your door you can string them with lights, making the entrance to your home look even more magical.

Do you have an entry hall? Place a tabletop Christmas tree or a festive centrepiece on the hall table, or display Christmas cards on the walls to transition the decorations from outside to in.

And stringing garlands of tinsel, baubles or lights across the top of doors and entryways throughout the house is a beautiful way to tie the decorations together.

A Glittering Bathroom
The bathroom can really benefit from a few simple decorating ideas. Place tea light candles in Christmas themed candle holders around the bath or basin.

Use the mirror to full effect – the reflection means when you place ornaments along the bottom of the mirror you’ve immediately doubled your decorations! It’s easy to match your decorations to your bathrooms colour scheme, too. You can find decorations in blue, silver, purple. Click here for more inspiration.

A Festive Kitchen
Christmas is a time for feasting, and you’re kitchen should reflect that. Fill unused glass bowls with baubles and glittering snowflakes, or place branches and berries in a tall vase and tie a ribbon around the outside.

You can also make use of any empty wine or water bottles you might have. Thread some indoor lights into the bottle before sprucing up the outside with bows or garlands for simple but stunning kitchen decorations.
