WELCOME TO OUR BLOG - THE PLACE TO BE INSPIRED TO CREATE, DECORATE & CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS!

Mix things up this Christmas in July… in a cocktail shaker!

Here are the recipes for our cheeky Elves’ favourite Christmas cocktails. We thought we would channel a traditional European Christmas and include some of our favourite winter warmers – Christmas in July being the perfect excuse to indulge yourself a little!

Mulled wine

Anyone who has ever been to the Christmas markets in Europe will remember the smell of mulled wine (or Glühwein) filling up the air. This hot, sweet and spicy wine by Jamie Oliver will melt anyone’s heart.

Eggnog

A Christmas special, this brandied eggnog martini by Martha Stewart is an extra classy take on an old favourite.

Hot buttered rum

This super-sweet recipe featured on the super-sweet ‘Not Without Salt’ blog is absolutely to die for.  Not only is it fun to make, but it’s even more fun to drink!

Santa shot

While it’s not a hot and toasty drink, we thought this shot by ‘Mix That Drink’ was too cool to skip. Get the party started and those sleigh bells jingling with this fun Santa shot. For an extra bit of fun, rim the shot glasses with crushed candy canes.

Peppermint patty

Deseree Kazda makes a minty hot chocolate that has found its way on to the naughty list. Perfect, not only to warm up your guests at your Christmas in July party, but it also doubles as a delicious dessert.

If these cheeky Christmas drinks aren’t enough to entertain your guest then why not play a round of ‘Do you see what I see?’ This is where 2 people sit back to back. One holds a festive object and the other a notepad and pen. The aim of the game is for the person holding the object to describe it correctly, without actually identifying what it is, the other person then has to draw it – after a few cocktails this can become quite amusing!

If you have any other winter warmers or Christmas cocktails you would like to share, please post it to our Facebook wall. We’re always looking out for new and exciting ideas!
