There’s something magical about having ornaments hanging from above. And taking your decorating to another level by creating breathtaking floating Christmas displays is much easier than you think!
Floating displays can be used anywhere in your home, including places you normally wouldn’t be able to use. They’re a perfect fit hanging over the dinner table, bringing some magic to your hallway or brightening up a pokey corner.
To create your own beautiful display, simply follow our step-by-step guide below for a fun and easy Christmas project:
- First up choose your baubles. You can choose whether you want all one colour or if you want to mix and match.
- Next you’ll need to decide how you’ll hang them. You need a strong material – fishing line is a good option, or you can find ribbon in Christmas colours and use that. Cut your ribbon into several different lengths, and attach firmly to the top of each bauble.
- Once all your decorations are ready, you can decide where you’ll hang them. Then either tie or pin the loose end of your ribbon to the roof, doorframe or lighting fixtures and you’re done!
If you want to be a bit more adventurous try incorporating wreaths and branches into your display. Or for a really dramatic decoration, cluster 10 or 15 baubles together in a single group.
