Traditions on Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve Traditions - With Milk and Gingerbreadman Cookie

It’s the night before Christmas, the presents are under the tree, the big day is planned and there’s nothing to do but wait for morning. Remember, it’s the family traditions that will make this season magical for your children; not only the gifts. To help make the wait more fun, try starting up some Christmas Eve traditions that you can enjoy every year.

Movie Night
Get your family to pick their favourite Christmas movies and make the night before Christmas magical. Grab some festive snacks, buckets of popcorn and set up the kids with their sleeping bags for a fun-filled, festive movie night.

Pyjama Presents
Wrap some festive pyjamas for your family and let them open this one present on Christmas Eve. Brand new PJs will make going to bed more enjoyable for your kids on this exciting night.

Sleepover Party
If you have kids, this is a wonderful tradition to start the night before Christmas. Gather some pillows, mattresses and blankets in the living room and allow everyone to sleep together while they wait for Santa to arrive.

Magic Santa Key
If you don’t have a chimney in your house, young children will love the idea of a magic Santa key. Create a fun Christmas Eve tradition and hang the special key outside with your children along with a special note for Santa.

Christmas Light Adventures
Do a bit of research on where the best Christmas lights are in your area, gather your family and drive around on Christmas eve playing Christmas carols while in search for the best light displays. If you have kids this is a great way to tire them out before putting everyone to bed!
