Glitter Reindeer Cards

You’ll Need

  • Plain cards
  • Glitter of choice
  • Super glue
  • Small paint brush
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Toothpicks
  • Download a deer template or make your own
  • Hairspray

Method:

  1. Download a deer template and print.
  2. Tape the reindeer stencil to the card then used a pencil to trace the outline onto the card.
  3. Paint on the glue inside the stencil. Grab a q-tip or toothpick to help spread the glue inside the reindeer and even out the lines. Be sure not to use too much glue, as it will make the outline bleed.
  4. Add a heavy layer of glitter and leave to dry. Lightly dust off the excess glitter and spray with heavy hold hair spray.
  5. Try this in other festive shapes such as a snowman, snowflake or Christmas ornaments.

Mini-Wreath Holiday Cards

You’ll Need:
Wreaths

  • Spool wire
  • Greens (we used boxwood, oregonia, rosemary, myrtle, seeded eucalyptus)
  • Clippers
  • Floral tape (optional)

Cards

  • Twine
  • Card stock
  • Scissors

Method

Wreaths

  1. Make a small, round shape by twisting a couple pieces of wire together. Our wreaths are about 1″ in diameter.
  2. Clip pieces of greens, removing leaves from the bottom inch of the stem.
  3. Twist the greens around the wire until it is covered.
  4. Keep twisting small pieces of greens around the form, securing them under the other stems as you go. Secure with wire or floral tape if they need extra reinforcement.
  5. Clip any stray stems that disfigure the shape of the wreath.

Cards

  1. Cut a square of card stock (ours are 2″ x 3″) and punch a small hole in the center, top of the card.
  2. Stamp the card with a custom stamp like this or buy one readymade.
  3. Attach a mini wreath by tying a piece of twine through the hole.

Reindeer Pop-up Card

You’ll Need

  • Brown medium-weight paper, for legs
  • Silver or bone-coloured medium-weight paper, for antlers
  • Coloured medium-weight paper, for ornaments
  • Knitting needle or bone folder
  • Utility knife
  • Card
  • White glue
  • Silver thread
  • Mini hole-punch
  • 5-by-7-inch envelope
  • Templates from source link below

Method:

  1. Download templates for the reindeer’s antlers, head/body and the pop-up card base. Print out a brown head and two legs, silver or bone-coloured antlers, and ball ornaments on any colour of medium-weight paper. Use a knitting needle or bone folder to score the dotted lines of the head and body.
  2. Cut out head, legs, antlers, and ornaments with utility knife. Fold head, antlers, and body along score lines. Score card down middle where fold will be.
  3. Glue down the tabs of the antlers with white glue to the shaded area on card that says antlers. Glue down head tab to create 3-D head. Next, glue down head, body, and legs.
  4. Glue together two small circles with a piece of silver thread sandwiched in between to make a mini ornament. Make a hole with a mini hole-punch on antlers; tie on ornament. Embellish reindeer as desired. Place in 5-by-7-inch envelope.
